halva Recipe

Halva was once considered one of the most popular traditional and authentic Iranian desserts, but today fewer people know Halva as a dessert.

Ingredients

  • White flour; glass
  • Sugar, a glass
  • Two thirds of liquid oil
  • Rosehip; 1 tbsp
  • Saffron brewed; tbsp
  • Spoonful of cardamom powder

recipe

first stage

The first step in making halva is to prepare nectar or halva syrup. For this purpose, put a suitable pot on high heat, then pour two glasses of water into the pot. Then add the sugar along with the cardamom powder and the rose water and allow the water to boil. After the boiling water, mix the sugar well until completely dissolved in the water, then reduce the heat to the bottom of the pot and add the saffron to the syrup and allow the syrup to reach a sufficient consistency.
second stage

At this point, sift the flour two to three times with a fine sieve to make it perfectly smooth. Next, place a suitable skillet over very gentle heat and pour the liquid oil into it and allow the liquid oil to cool over time.
third level

While the liquid oil is heated, heat another pan and add the sifted flour. At this point, you should bake the flour well to make it slightly creamy. The flour should be stirred continuously so that it does not burn because the flour burns very quickly if it is not boiled.
Step Four

After the cream has become creamy, add hot oil to the flour and mix well to allow the flour to dry. Add the hot syrup to the liquid oil and flour mixture. Note that you should gradually add the syrup to the ingredients and mix at the same time.
Step Five

At this point, the halva is almost ready, mixing it over a gentle heat to bring the oil to a boil, then pour into the pan and decorate with ingredients such as almonds, pistachios and coconut powder.
